ASK®-KS-HD: Dry Break Coupling made of plastic for acids and alkalis

The ASK®-KS-HD is a particularly suitable Dry Break for operation with aggressive liquid media such as acids and alkalis, because it is constructed of PTFE/CTFE plastics. It is also suitable for other liquid and gaseous media in suction or pressure lines, being spill-free, safe and environmentally friendly. It enables the quick coupling and uncoupling of hose lines and pipes under operating pressure, even while they still contain transported product.
Coupling and uncoupling an ASK® Dry Break are both very simple operations:

To connect, simply place the female connector on the male adaptor of the Dry Break. By performing a single, smooth turn, the coupling is sealed, after which its valves open. The transported media remains safe and spill-free in the line.

To disconnect the ASK-KS-HD simply proceed in the reverse order. The valves on either side of the coupling close automatically, preventing loss of product. The male adaptor normally remains on the system, with the valve securely closed until the next coupling.

Spill-free & safe

ASK®-KS-HD Dry Breaks ensure spill-free coupling and uncoupling without exposing either the environment or the operator to the transported media.

Fast loading processes

The ASK®-KS-HD can be uncoupled even when the pipe is filled, which significantly accelerates the loading process. The simple operation of the Dry Break also reduces connection time. This is enhanced by the ergonomically optimized hand wheel which in comparison to a conventional grab handle, greatly simplifies the operation.

Maximum flow

The flow-optimized ASK®-KS-HD design was created with the finite element method (FEM), and validated by flow tests. The results demonstrate a minimal pressure loss, even when the Dry Break operates at the highest delivery flow.

Integrated swivel joint

The ASK®-GI is extremely low maintenance, due to the Dry Break’s high-quality design. Mechanical stress is kept to a rock-bottom minimum, and pipe torsion is prevented with the integrated swivel joint on its female side. This produces a permanently smooth rotation.

Greater safety with the ARTA pin

The ARTA pin provides another important safety measure. Located on the female connector of the quick coupling, it snaps into the male adaptor to prevent the unintentional release of the coupling.

Error-free coupling using mechanical lockout

ARTA’S mechanical lockout option makes it impossible to mistakenly connect and combine two different products by connecting the wrong ARTA Dry Break couplings unintentionally.

Fully verified by international certification entities

Because the ASK®-KS-HD is a globally recognized safety coupling, certified by approved international organizations, there are no reservations surrounding its use for various safety-related applications.
The ASK®-KS-HD Dry Break from ARTA is used on suction and discharge lines for aggressive liquids. Since it can be used on both hoses and fixed piping, its use is ideal, among other things, for tanker vehicles, rail tank cars, loading stations or hose-dispensing stations.

Ideally an ASK®-KS-HD should be combined with our NTS-SZ-CS emergency disconnect safety system for aggressive media.
